On Thursday, FX announced that they had cast a new member for season 7 of Sons of Anarchy, and you won’t believe who it is!

Executive producer Kurt Sutter revealed that Marilyn Manson had been cast in a recurring role as Ron Tully, a white supremacist who has been described as a “prison shot-caller” to help Jax (Charlie Hunnam) expand his power base.

Manson released a statement about his newest role, and sounds pretty excited about it. “Sons has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father’s,” Manson said. “So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema.

“After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship,” the statement continued. “So, now all I need is a motorcycle.”

Manson is most well known for his dark heavy metal music. However, he is also an established writer, painter, and actor. His previous small screen credits include playing The Shadow on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, playing a roller rink server on HBO’s Eastbound & Down and a small part in Showtime’s Californication.

On the big screen, Manson has made an appearance in Lost Highway, Party Monster , Jawbreaker, and Salem. Manson hasn’t released an album in over two years. His last album, Born Villain, was released in 2012.

Last week, Manson suffered the loss of his most influential supporter … his mother. Barbara J. Werner passed away after fighting an intense battle with dementia. She was only 68-years-old. Manson took to Twitter, following his mother’s death, to pay tribute to her.

“Mother, to the first and greatest believer in me…I hope I see you again someday,” he wrote. “But not now, because I have more things I promised I would do. I’ll make you proud and satisfied that you know that you made the son you wanted. I love you.”

The seventh season of Sons of Anarchy is scheduled to premiere in September 2014.
