Sofia Vergara, the last I’d heard, was a newly-minted single woman. Although her relationship with businessman boyfriend Nick Loeb has weathered some serious storms — Sofia apparently nursed Nick back to health following a car accident in 2010 — the two had decided to call it quits back in May. However, if recent rumors are to be believed, it would seem that their relationship has been properly patched up and shifted into a completely new direction.
According to the folks at Celebuzz, Loeb popped the question to Vergara while attending her 40th birthday party at the Mayan archeological ruins of Chichen Itza. After all, if you’re going to party precisely like it’s your birthday, why not host the festivities at an ancient locale? Apparently quite a few people were in attendance to witness this proposal, which comes after almost two years of dating. Minus the recent split, of course.
In addition to numerous family and friends, the couple shared this extremely special moment with a few members of the “Modern Family” cast, specifically Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen, and Sarah Hyland. If everything goes as planned, this will be the second marriage for Vergara, who was previously married to Joe Gonzalez from 1991 to 1993. I suppose there are worse ways to celebrate your 40th birthday.

Sofia Vergara is engaged. Happy for her, but since I’ve long harbored a gigantic lezzie crush on her I can’t help feeling somewhat scorned
Hapy 40th Birthday Sofia Vergara. On behalf of all men, thank you for giving us the gift of you.
