Sharon Stone will star in a new TNT drama called Agent X starting in 2015. On Friday, the cable network ordered 10 episodes of Agent X, which also stars Gerald McRaney–known for his role on House of Cards, and Jeff Hephner–known for roles in both the film Interstellar and NBC’s Chicago Fire.

Sharon Stone, who also serves as executive producer of Agent X, will play the part of Natalie Maccabee, the first female vice president of the United States. Maccabee has the power to deploy a secret agent, John Case ( played by Jeff Hephner), who tackles crises beyond the traditional reach of both law enforcement officials and the government. He takes on threats around the world and in Washington, D.C.

“Maccabee soon finds herself being drawn into the action,” a TNT announcement says.

Gerald McRaney plays the role of Malcolm Miller, who is the chief steward of the vice president’s mansion. He is the one introduces Maccabee to Case.

Lillian McCarthy is the senior vice president of TNT and TBS Original Productions. She is very excited about what Sharon Stone and company can do for the network.

Agent X is a perfect fit for TNT’s expanding lineup of action-dramas,” she says. “It’s a slick, high-energy thrill-ride with lots of twists and turns, big action sequences and (cool) stunts. And at the center of it all, we have an incredible cast led by Jeff Hephner, Sharon Stone and Gerald McRaney.”

Did you know that the last time Sharon Stone headlined a series on TV was back in 1983? She starred in an NBC sitcom that year called Bay City Blues.

Fans will have to wait a while longer before seeing Stone on TNT in Agent X, however. Even though it is scheduled to air in 2015, it will likely be toward the end of the year.
