Pro wrestler Scott Hall was arrested on Friday for domestic violence after police were called to his Florida home. When they arrived, Hall’s girlfriend, Lisa Howell, said he had been on a several-day drinking binge and that the two of them had been arguing. When she tried to leave, Hall grabbed her by the neck and attempted to pull her from the car seat. After officers verified that Howell had red marks on her neck–and that Hall was heavily intoxicated–they took the wrestler into custody and booked him.

Howell refused to press charges, however, and the story is getting a little murky. Now Hall is denying that he harmed her after the news of his arrest broke this week. Hall’s lawyer, Loredana Nesci, said there was no violence involved in their dispute despite what the police report says.

“The police arrested Mr. Hall against the wishes of Ms. Howell, who insisted that the argument did not result in violence,” said Nesci. “Ms. Howell claims that there was no physical abuse.”
