Sarah Palin’s political action committee raised a little over $460,000 during the first six months of 2013. Though it may sound like a sizable amount of cash, it isn’t as much as the committee raised during the same period in the past two years.

The former GOP Vice Presidential nominee’s committee, also known as Sarah PAC, has spent more money than it raised so far this year. Sarah PAC spent almost $497,000, which is nearly $37,000 more than has been raised between January and July of 2013. According to the FEC filing, the money has been spent on contributions to political candidate Representative Jason Smith ($5,000), a Republican who won special election in Missouri this past June; expenses and consultant fees, including Grey Strategies ($7,500), NorthStar Strategies ($7,500), Advanced Response Systems ($15,640); and consultant Timothy Crawford ($11,5000 a month).

Crawford is a chief adviser for Palin, a spokesman for Sarah PAC, and has also been described as treasurer for Sarah PAC. He told the Associated Press Wednesday that they decided to ease up on donors during these first six months. Crawford said they are “Very pleased with the results. It is an off year after a presidential election where every donor was bombarded with requests.”

The PAC had raised $1.2 million by this time in 2012. and $1.7 million by the end of June 2011. Though Sarah PAC has currently only raised a little over $460,000, the PAC shouldn’t be too worried, just yet. The latest filings shows the committee has almost $1,114,000 on hand.

Recently, while on Sean Hannity’s radio show, Palin said she may be putting her hat back into the political ring. She said many people have asked her to consider a run for Senate in 2014, but will wait and see if any “new blood” decide to enter the race.

Since resigning as governor of Alaska in 2009, Palin has written Going Rogue and America by Heart, participated in public speaking engagements, served as a contributor to FOX News, and hosted the television show Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC.
