After the sudden death of television legend Dick Clark earlier this week, talk has begun of a new reign over “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”, to be helmed by American Idol host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Seacrest will be taking over, since he’s co-hosted the live event since 2005 after Clark’s stroke left him unable to perform the duties alone. The two share quite a few similarities, both having worked in radio and hosting hugely successful television shows; they also share a seemingly tireless work ethic, multi-tasking several projects and jobs at once.

But not everyone is a fan, and the idea of anyone replacing such a household name is throwing some people off.
