Is Rosie O’Donnell dating pregnant singer Sophie B. Hawkins? It seems there’s been some speculation about that in recent weeks.

Us Weekly says it isn’t true, however.

Rosie O’Donnell and wife of three years, Michelle Rounds, are in the midst of a divorce. When O’Donnell was spotted recently with the “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover” singer, it apparently started tongues wagging.

“I am not romantically involved with Rosie or anybody for that matter,” Hawkins, 50, tells Us Weekly. “Rosie has been a dear friend for thirty years. I am very proud and happy to be having this child on my own.”

A rep for Rosie O’Donnell even issued a statement about the rumor.

“Rosie and Sophie have been friends for over 20 years. She has not dated anyone since her separation from Michelle,” the statement reads.

Sophie B. Hawkins, a single mom, has a six-year-old son named Dashiell.

“Dashiell and I have had the magical twosome for six adventurous years, that intense focus of an only child and single mother, and we’re ready to invite a new and unknown dynamic into our lives,” Sophie B. Hawkins said in an interview with Us Weekly in February.

Given that this is Rosie O’Donnell’s second divorce in eight years, it might be better that she remains single for a while longer anyway. Prior to her marriage to Michelle Rounds, Rosie O’Donnell was married to Kelli Carpenter.
