I’ve never really been a fan on Roseanne Barr’s raunchy comedic stylings, but this years roast promises to to be a good one. Roseanne has never been a girlie-girl, it’s easy to see how a lot of comedians will try to one-up eachother to match Roseanne’s already ribald humor. The roast will be taped on August 4th, and premiere on August 12.

Roseanne was demure about her appearance in the Comedy Central Press Release: “All I can say is good luck finding anything about me to make fun of,” she said. “I mean, I’ve never made a mistake or offended anyone in my life!” This will most likely turn into Tom Arnold Roast.

Past Roastee’s include Donald Trump, Charlie Sheen, Joan River, Bob Saget, Captain Kirk, and Pamela Anderson. So far the list of presenters has not been confirmed, but you can expect the typical roast comedians and some of Roseanne’s former co-stars and friends.

Roasting topics will include the incident in 1990 when she grabbed her crotch and spit, all while singing an intentionally horrendous rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. They will also hit on her short lived talk show and reality series that saw limited success. The series was called “Roseanne’s Nuts” if that tells you anything. Roseanne is vying for the Green party nomination for president with Willie Nelson as her top pick for VP. And that should tell you about how close we are to legalizing marijuana in this country, a cause for which Nelson and Barr are both activists.

Roseanne, 59, is the creator and star of Roseanne along with John goodman and Laurie Metcalfe. The later will definitely be at the roast, because she doesn’t have anything better to do. And John Goodman will probably do a recorded message, if he appears at all. Roseanne has a new pilot that just got picked up by NBC, so we might also see her in the fall line-up.
