Rita Ora is all about the attitude. If you’re going to be as successful as Ora, you have to bring some confidence to the game.
Case in point. Ora recently told Marie Claire, “If I’m going to do Rita Ora, it’s going to be Rita f*cking Ora. It’s not about who is on my album or who’s featured or the names. It’s about a solid body of work that I can call my own.”
That kind of approach is what drives no only Rita Ora but her sister, Elena Sahatçiu, who manages the singing supermodel’s career.
“Oh, it is in full effect. We’re these conniving Kosovan hungry bitches,” Ora says. “I knew that one way or another, I was going to do things my way.”
Rita Ora’s parents moved from Kosovo to London so she and her siblings would have it better growing up. But Ora has said in the past that she still very much identifies with her home country.
“I feel very close to it,” Ora says, “even though I left Kosovo so early in my life. I don’t want people to think that I’ve abandoned where I’m from. I am actually working with UNICEF in order give back for all the love and support I have received from the people there. But I also really admire my mom and dad’s brave decision to move.”
So I didn't know Rita Ora was a refugee from Kosovo. #RefugeeWeek

Rita Ora admits that she was a handful for her parents in her younger days.
“I would rip my T-shirts and be really punk and not clean,” Ora reveals. “And I would have blonde hair, really dark eyebrows, red lipstick, lots of fake rings that made my fingers go green. I wouldn’t be smelling that great…. But me and my friends, we were really, like, rebel-y. I feel like I lived a lot when I shouldn’t have.”
That look has served her well. Ora speaks of a moment on a film set for Southpaw when she rolled out of bed early and got to the makeup trailer for her shoot, only to be told that she looked the part already.
“I arrived on the set, and the makeup artist said, ‘You’re kind of ready to go onstage.’ I’m like, ‘You know I’m playing a crack whore?’ Which shows: Don’t look at me when I’m waking up.”
