Capcom has just announced the PC release date for their upcoming Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Patient PC gamers will have to wait almost two months longer than console gamers, as the PC version is set to launch on May 18th.
Here’s what Capcom has to say about the PC version:
Featuring NVIDIA 3D Vision support, stunning high resolution visual effects make the hell of Raccoon City even more graphic. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for the PC will include all the same features as the console version including the ability to compete in an eight player online team versus battle and four player campaign mode. Play as Umbrella Security Service (U.S.S.) operatives or the US Government Spec Ops and unleash chaos on the streets of Raccoon City
Operation Raccoon City takes place in 1998, after the Umbrella Corporation finds out that one of their leading scientists plans to sell the G-Virus the the US Government. True to form, that virus eventually nutates and spreads throughout the city. Players set out as a U.S.S. operative, hell bent on containing the outbreak.
And of course, a hell of a lot of zombie destruction ensues.
Along with this announcement, Capcom released a new trailer. The “Brutality” trailer is, well, brutal. Check it out below:
The North American release date on consoles is set for March 20th.
Speaking of PC releases, the first high-res screenshots from the graphically tuned PC version of Max Payne 3 dropped on Thursday.
