Renee Zellweger has been known for her distinctive visage since she began her rise to fame; her rounded cheeks and slightly squinty eyes have endeared fans for years, especially after she embodied the role of Bridget Jones. But after the actress stepped out at a fashion event in NYC over the weekend looking decidedly…smoother…the rumors began to fly about a possible Botox endeavor.

Twitter is buzzing as the photos from this weekend circulate, and several gossip sites have asked what the 44-year old had done.

Zellweger hasn’t been in the public eye as much in recent years, particularly following her extremely short marriage to country star Kenny Chesney.

“I made the biggest mistake of my personal life. I felt a failure. I was looking for something else. I just needed to put acting aside. I needed to sit still and not to worry about the dresses and the hair and the travel and the interviews. I was going through huge life changes at the time. I wanted to stop and be a girl for a while,” she said.

The “Bridget Jones” star has counted numerous celebs among her boyfriends, including Jim Carrey and Jack White, but has reportedly gotten serious recently about blues musician Doyle Bramhall. The two met in college and reconnected after several years.
