Singer Ray J was hospitalized in Vegas on Monday after an extended flight from China–32 hours, round trip–with the fear of a dangerous blood clot in his lungs. He was released on Tuesday after undergoing a series of tests.
Ray J was also treated for jet lag and exhaustion after being found disoriented and “out of it” in his hotel room, but the possibility of a blood clot had doctors worried for his well-being, especially since rapper Heavy D succumbed to one just last year.
TMZ reported that an incident between Ray J and Whitney Houston’s family at the Billboard Music Awards–which he attended just after that extended plane ride–also contributed to his condition. The singer was linked to the iconic songstress on and off before her death earlier this year, and her family asked for him to be moved away from them at the awards show. It’s rumored that his affiliation with Kim Kardashian–with whom he filmed a sex tape–is part of the reason for the family’s ire.
Ray J was sent home to L.A. on Tuesday and is recovering from exhaustion, according to reports.
