Last year, indie dev Flippfly introduced the world to Race the Sun - a procedurally generated racing game for PC. Now they're bringing it to Sony's platforms.
Flippfly announced today that that they're bringing Race the Sun to PS3, PS4 and PS Vita this summer. The unique racing game promises speed in it most distilled form as players race against an ever setting sun in a solar powered plane. Once the sun goes out, you're done.
Like most indie PC darlings, Race the Sun will get some new features on its move to Sony platforms. For starters, the developers will be adding new levels to the game. They will also be adding in cross buy and cross save support so players only have to buy the game once to own it across all three platforms.
Race the Sun is just the latest indie game to be hitting Sony's platforms this year. As AAA releases become rarer, you're going to one day thank your lucky stars that so many indie titles are releasing on console platforms now. It's a nice way to pass the time between releases, and some of these indie titles are oftentimes on par with or even better than the major studio releases.
