Priscilla Presley has banned Elvis Presley impersonators from a new Graceland-themed wedding chapel opening soon in Las Vegas.
“This is all first-class,” she told the Associated Press during a recent interview. “This is not a joke. The wedding chapel is not a joke.”
Presley insists that ‘no joke’ also means there will be no red velvet or anything else gaudy in the chapel.
“Elvis had a lot of dignity. Elvis had a lot of class,” Priscilla Presley said. “He was a beautiful specimen of a man.”
It was back in 1967 that a very young Priscilla Wagner married Elvis Presley in Las Vegas.

“Graceland Presents ELVIS: The Exhibition–The Show–The Experience,” including the new wedding chapel, opens on April 23rd at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. This is the same property where Elvis performed several hundred sold-out shows between 1969 and 1976, when it was known as the International Hotel and then later the Las Vegas Hilton.
When Priscilla Presley arrives for the show’s debut, it is thought to be only her second time visiting the site since she last saw Elvis perform there, back in 1975.
Q: WIll you be at the Elvis experience in Vegas?
A: Yes I will. Hope to see many of you there. 🙂

Kudos to Priscilla Presley for banning Elvis impersonators and other gaudy attractions from her new wedding chapel. Don’t you think it’s time people started revering the late singer with at least a trace of dignity?
