“The Price Is Right” has announced its first male model in the show’s 40-year history, a man who competed with two other finalists to earn the title.

Rob Wilson proved he had what it takes by competing in challenges, such as writing and singing lyrics to the show’s theme song (what that has to do with modeling, I’m not quite sure) and changing costumes (there, that’s better); the challenges were streamed on the show’s website, with hundreds of men being narrowed down to 26, until finally only three were left standing. The winner was chosen by viewer votes, with Wilson coming out ahead.

Curiously, he’ll only be given the job for one week–starting October 15th–before the show reverts back to the old sexy-ladies format. It’s still being hosted by comedian Drew Carey.

The show made headlines earlier this year when former host Bob Barker spoke out against producers for not including him in their 40th anniversary celebration, saying there was bad blood over what he feels is a lack of sensitivity on their part towards animal rights.

“I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals,” he said. “Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed.”
