Unforgettable star Poppy Montgomery and husband Shawn Sanford welcomed their second child into the world on Tuesday, November 11th. This is the third child for the actress. Son Gus Monroe Sanford weighed in at a healthy seven pounds, four ounces, and measured 20.5 inches long.

Gus joins siblings Braydon and Haley from Shawn Sanford’s previous marriage, Jackson, from Poppy Montgomery’s previous relationship, and Violet Grace, who is Montgomery and Sanford’s daughter.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome baby Gus into our family. We will be forever grateful for his healthy and happy arrival,” Poppy Montgomery’s husband said during an interview with People. “His brothers and sisters cannot wait for him to be home even though we keep reminding them that baby Gus is not a toy.”

Montgomery kept her pregnancy a secret from fans for about six months. It was this past July that she announced she and Sanford were expecting a baby boy.

“I’m hoping to get all of the privileges now of a real pregnant person,” she joked at the time of her big announcement. “I want to be respected and given lots of royal treatment.”

“A name. THE name. The name that my unborn son will carry with him for the rest of his life. What if I mess it up?” the former Without A Trace star wrote.

The proud new parents decided upon a fine name for their baby boy. Gus Monroe Sanford is a distinguished sounding name that isn’t inappropriate for a child. Sometimes parents fail to think about what a name will sound and feel like both during childhood and adulthood, and often the child-turned-grownup pays the price at some point during his or her life.
