Police Hunt For Owner Of Fingers

Officials are on the hunt for an endangered child in the Honolulu area after a gruesome discovery last month. Police frantically searched dumpsters behind the Kukui Gardens Housing Complex in Liliha looking for more information about a set of fingers that was found in the trash there. A women discovered the fingers sealed in a plastic bag as she searched for recyclables in the trash around early February.

Gina Rose Vendegna, who lives near the complex comments on what she found there:

“I look for bottles and cans to recycle and I give them away to the old people,”

“I saw a plastic ziploc bag, which I thought were ginger root starting to dry out. I’m a gardener, and I recycle, and I thought I’d be able restore them. So I threw them in my purse,”

“[Later] I was drinking a soda and I knew for a fact those were fingers when I seen the fingernails. And people I tried showing them to tried telling me that it wasn’t, that it might be monkey fingers. And I thought just by chance I’m going to call the Police Department, turn ’em in and let them decide,”

Tests on the fingers reveal that they belong to a young girl around three or four years old. No one is sure how the fingers came to be in the garbage, but the matter is not being taken lightly.
