  • A single-engine Piper Saratoga aircraft was found in ruins on the ground after a horrendous crash that turned out to be fatal for two people aboard the flight. The aircraft was en route to Claremore from Alabama.  The aircraft is believed to have crashed on Monday. Around 2 p.m., Air Traffic Control realized that they had lost contact with the pilot.

The plane was believed to be having problems in the Pittigrew area. The aircraft was not immediately locatable after the crash, but crews had been desperately searching for it.

The Arkansas Wing of Civil Air Patrol initiated the search for the aircraft. At around 8:48 p.m., the plane was eventually found between Mountain Road and Ball Creek Road near Saint Paul, Arkansas. When the plane was found, it was soon discovered that the couple that had been aboard the plane, Adina Williams, 52, and Ivan Williams, 63, were deceased. Family members of the deceased identified the bodies.

Ivan Williams was the CEO of Williams Construction Company. The couple resided in Pryor, Oklahoma.

There are many questions unanswered as this story begins to unfold. Authorities are scrambling trying to find answers to the possible causes of the plane crash. They are under the impression that harsh weather conditions could have been the cause of the crash as it was said to be rainy at the time of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration will be in charge of conducting a thorough investigation of the site of the wreckage.

Authorities are still uncertain as to who the owner of the aircraft is, but they express that they hold a firm belief that the Mr. and Mrs. Williams were the only two passengers involved in the plane crash.
