Well, kind of. What we have is another take on telling the story of the original Star Wars triology, via the medium of radio. But that’s been done, you say? While that’s true, it hasn’t been done quite like this:
It’s the Star Wars Trilogy like you’ve never heard it before! Join voice actors Billy West, Tara Strong, Maurice LaMarche, John DiMaggio, Kevin Conroy, Jess Harnell and Rob Paulsen as they re-create the magic of the Star Wars films, albeit in their own special way! You never know what you’ll hear when this cast gets together.
If you recognize any of those names, there’s probably a good reason. It’s a who’s who of animated character voice actors doing scenes from the original Star Wars movie, complete in the character’s voices they helped make popular. The performance was done at the Emerald City Comicon almost two months ago, but the video popped last night and today.
Because my description does the voice acting absolutely no justice, I’ll just leave this here for you. Keep in mind, the entire video is an hour and twenty minutes long, meaning if you’re looking for a way to kill time at work on the Friday before Memorial Day, this video is a good way to do so:
As you might expect, the viral popularity of the performance did not escape the notice of Twitter:
Rob Paulsen appeared to be a crowd favorite too, but we all know about opinions. They’re, like, yours, man.
