  • Phil Collins has reportedly come out of retirement to collaborate on some music with Adele. The former Genesis front man and the Rolling in the Deep singer certainly make an unusual, but definitely very talented pair. It would seem practically anything the two do together will result in an amazing sound.

It’s a bit unclear just yet whether this is Phil Collins’ or Adele’s project. Neither of the talented singers has laid claim to it, but it has been confirmed that the two are in the recording studio and they are making music.

“I’ve just started to work with Adele,” the In the Air Tonight singer said during an interview published by Rolling Stone. “I wasn’t actually too aware…I live in a cave, but she’s achieved an incredible amount. I really love her voice. I love some of this stuff she’s done, too.”

Nothing was said about whether this will be for Adele’s album-in-progress–a following up to her huge hit 21. Phil Collins hasn’t released an album since back in 2002 with Testify. He hasn’t toured since 2007 either–having taken part in a Genesis reunion tour then. Following that tour he sustained some nerve damage that rendered him pretty much unable to play his beloved drums. This weighed quite heavily on his decision to retire.

Fans will no doubt be thrilled to learn that Phil Collins is making music once again. And who better to collaborate with than Adele? Even their song writing talents are similar. It will be an exciting day indeed when an announcement is finally made by Collins, Adele or both, as to whose album they are making and how long their respective fans have to wait to finally be treated to these songs.
