Manning suffered an injury to his ankle, which is forcing the veteran quarterback to have a MRI on Monday.

Except for a couple mistakes, the Denver Broncos have proved to be a team that is almost unstoppable throughout the 2013 season. Peyton Manning is certainly a big part of their offense, and an integral part of the Broncos team when they win games. If he is to be out, it would certainly crush their team, but they will not know for sure until the results of the MRI come in. They defeated the Chargers 28-20, and have a record of 8-1.

Manning’s ankle was giving him trouble, and following their victory, he said “I’m pretty sore. They kind of got me twice in that lower area. [I’ll] get an MRI tomorrow and will know more then.

Peyton Manning is one of the older quarterbacks, but although coming to the Broncos late in his career may have seemed like a surprising move, he has had incredible success with the team. The Broncos have been one of the most high-powered offenses all year, with Manning leading them to multiple blowout games, and in some cases coming from behind to win.

Despite the injury, and although he does not know what the MRI will say yet, he is still planning to play against the Chiefs next Sunday. The ankle has been bothering him for a while, but he hopes to play next week and says “I had (an MRI) a couple weeks ago. I took a couple hits today, so just kind of an update to see what it says. I’m hoping for no change.”

If there is any regular season game where they truly need him, it would be against a Kansas City Chiefs team that has a record of 9-0. If he is able to play against the Chiefs, he will also be facing off against a vicious defense that has recorded more sacks than other defense in the league.

Peyton Manning was sacked twice by the Chargers, after only being sacked 11 times previously. Although the ankle was bothering him, that didn’t stop him from throwing for 330 yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions, or just another day in the life of Peyton Manning.
