Parks and Recreation: Season 5 will become available for streaming on Netflix on Tuesday, October 1st. It will join its NBC comedy siblings The Office (Season 9) and 30 Rock (Season 7), which will also have their streaming catalogs expanded on that day.
Seasons 1-4 are currently available on Netflix, and Season 6 debuted on NBC this week.
Netflix continues to expand its available offerings in the comedy genre both with back seasons of popular shows like these, New Girl, The League, Louie and others, as well as original and exclusive shows like Arrested Development, Bad Samaritans, Orange is the New Black and Derek.
Netflix is also releasing an increasing number of exclusive stand-up comedy specials. Recent additions include specials from John Hodgman, Rob Schneider, Doug Stanhope, Mike Birbiglia, Kathleen Madigan, Moshe Kasher and Broken Lizard’s Steve Lemme and Kevin Heffernan.
Coming soon are specials from comedians Russell Peters and Parks & Rec’s Aziz Ansari.
Netflix also recently added the Nick Offerman (aka: Ron Swanson) film Somebody Up There Likes Me to its streaming catalog.
