Pamela Anderson shocked her fans when she cut her hair into a short pixie cut back in October. Now, the super model has gone even more drastic, dying her blonde hair, that she has always been known for, brunette.

Anderson’s long blonde hair had always been part of her image, and when she decided to go for a new look, fans were skeptical. Why the sudden need for change? Anderson says that she wanted to start fresh and with this new hair style she can do just that.

“I just thought, you know, my hair had had a life,” Anderson said during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on November 7. “And I wanted to kind of put that behind me and start fresh. And I thought it’d be good for the marathon. And it was.”

Anderson debuted her new locks while attending an event at Art Basel in Miami that showcased artist and photographer Raphael Mazzucco’s work. “Pamela is one of my oldest friends. We come from the same town in Canada. We did a shoot last week, and her darker hair brings out a whole new side of her,” Mazzucco said.
