Last week, we looked at six zombie games currently seeking funding on Kickstarter. One of them, Dead State, has since reached its funding goal of $150,000. As of the time of this writing, the game has 6,446 backers, who have pledged $174,948, and it still has 10 days to go.
Here, the game’s project lead discusses the project and why it’s seeking support on Kickstarter:
“It’s not really about the zombies. It’s about the humans, and what happens to them physically and psychologically,” he says.
Here’s the trailer:
The project’s developers are offering a slew of prizes for those who pledge various amounts of funding. The highest contributions have come from two backers, who have pledged $1,000 or more each. The prize for that is a personalized item in the game.
“This is a non-equipped item that would be found by players – you provide the description, we make the art,” the developers say. “Some standards and editorial restrictions apply.”
There are two more levels of gift giving: $2,000 or more and $5,000 or more. Nobody has been quite that generous so far.
