Game Freak has been more open in recent years about new Pokemon coming to the latest games. For Pokemon X & Y, the team has been a little more conservative. They’ve been making up for it, however, by announcing some simply amazing Pokemon for the latest title.
Say hello to Honedge – a steel/ghost type. He’s quite literally a sword, and he’s one of the coolest Pokemon that the team has created in recent years. The ghost/steel mix will also undoubtedly introduce some interesting gameplay strategies. Check it out:
In previous Pokemon news, Nintendo revealed at E3 2013 that the player will be accompanied by four friends this time around. They also revealed a new gym trainer – Viola – that specializes in photography.
Pokemon X & Y is shaping up to be a major upgrade for the franchise that for years seemed content to make only baby steps forward. It’s an exciting time to be a fan and many dormant fans will undoubtedly jump into the fandom again.
Pokemon X & Y will be released simultaneously around the world on October 12 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
