For those that aren’t into racing games, Dead Rising 3 was undoubtedly the most impressive of Microsoft’s announced Xbox One launch title exclusives at E3. Though fans of the series have raised concerns about the serious tone previews of the game have shown thus far, the sheer number of zombies shown and its open-world style of play have given the game a good amount of buzz.
This week, Capcom released a new Dead Rising 3 preview to highlight some new details for the game using footage from E3. Players will take on the role of Nick Ramos, a mechanic who is trapped in the quarantined city of Los Perdidos, California. The game takes place 10 years after the events of Dead Rising 2. Weapon crafting will also allow for some of the same wild weapons used in previous Dead Rising games.
Capcom Vancouver Executive Producer Josh Bridge also highlighted Dead Rising 3‘s Kinect and SmartGlass integration. Players will be able to (or try to) push zombies off of themselves using the Kinect sensor, and using SmartGlass on tablets allows players to drop air strikes into the game world. No word yet on why a mechanic has access to air strikes.
