The first season of “Netflix original” Derek now has a DVD release date for the U.S.

If you don’t subscribe to Netflix, you’ll be able to pick it up on April 15th. Presumably, it will be digitally available from places like Amazon and iTunes at that point as well.

This is the third U.S. DVD release we’ve seen for Netflix originals following the first seasons of Lilyhammer and House of Cards. We were told that Orange is the New Black: Season 1 would be coming to DVD, but have yet to get a firm release date. Potential DVD releases for Hemlock Grove and Netflix’s fourth season of Arrested Development remain a mystery.

Derek recently wrapped filming on Series 2, which will first debut in the UK on TV before hitting Netflix here in the U.S. later this year. Series 1 is already available on DVD in the UK.
