Netflix Debuts Rob Schneider Stand-Up Special ‘Soy Sauce and the Holocaust’

Netflix is already making good on its promise to bring more stand-up comedy to its streaming service. Netflix reported its quarterly earnings last week, and in a letter to shareholders, the company noted that more original stand-up specials and documentaries would be on the way.

The letter from CEO Reed Hastings and CFO David Well said, “Beyond series, we will be expanding our Originals initiative to include broadly appealing feature documentaries and stand-up comedy specials. Netflix has become a big destination for fans of these much loved and often under-distributed genres.”

A lot of news publications reported Netflix getting into this kind of content as new, but the truth is they had already started. In fact, it was only about a month ago when Netflix premiered the John Hodgman stand-up special Ragnarok.

Netflix has now debuted a new stand-up special from Rob Schneider called Soy Sauce and the Holocaust. Here’s the description:

“SNL” alum Rob Schneider takes to the stage (as himself) to examine the bizarre nature of fame, the woes of aging and the virtue of sweatpants. Known for his off-the-wall characters, Schneider opens up about his own life, which can be equally zany.
