A gunman who entered the Washington Navy Yard in D.C. early this morning shot at least three people–including a police officer–before barricading himself in a room. A police spokesperson says this is still an active situation and security in the area is heightened, but they say there is no immediate threat to the surrounding area, including the Capitol.
Early reports say that two victims were found inside the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters, one was found outside the facility, and one was found on the roof. All are in critical condition as officials try and piece together the events of this morning. The building is currently home to 3,000 employees.
