More Execs Thought To Be Leaving Yahoo

Never mind talk of Yahoo employees finding the door marked "exit"; it’s almost starting to seem like they’re willing to jump out the nearest window, instead.  And the next people to depart will be high-ranking execs whose departures could affect Carol Bartz’s stay, according to a new report.

A small disclaimer: nothing’s been confirmed.  But Kara Swisher, who wrote the report, is usually spot-on in these matters. So on to the details.

Hilary SchneiderLet’s talk about Hilary Schneider first.  Her official profile – which is one of just 15 to appear on Yahoo’s "Management Team" page – states, "Schneider is EVP, Americas Region.  In this role, Schneider is responsible for Yahoo!’s North, Central and South American business including advertising sales, partnerships and programming.  Schneider reports directly to Yahoo!’s CEO Carol Bartz."

Then the second person (or third, if you count Jimmy Pitaro) who’s supposed to leave is David Ko, the SVP of Yahoo’s Audience, Local, and Mobile businesses.

This could indicate that Carol Bartz’s top people don’t have a lot of confidence in her ability to turn the company around.  And investors are arguably saying the same thing, sending Yahoo’s stock down 2.04 percent so far today.

All of which makes it quite interesting that Swisher heard an emergency meeting of Yahoo’s board of directors was called to discuss "the burgeoning management issue."
