Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach praised Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez in an Instagram post several days after the embarrassing Miss Universe mixup. Wurtzbach described Gutierrez as an “amazing woman” who represented her country “with honor.”
“To Ariadna, you are an amazing woman and we are now bonded together forever by a unique experience,” Wurtzbach wrote.
“In the last three weeks we were together, I saw how strong and beautiful you are inside and out. You represented your country with honour and I know how proud everyone must be of you. Fate has a plan for you, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead,” she said of Miss Colombia in her post. She also asked everyone to stop fighting over the controversial gaffe.
Although she became Miss Universe for a minute, Miss Colombia is still thankful for the experience. She expressed her gratitude to the people who supported her in her journey and congratulated Philippines for winning the contest.
After the storm comes the calm ? I want to thank each of the people who have sent me messages of support and strength!…

“The destiny of every person on this planet is already written, and mine is this. I could give the joy of being Miss Universe to my country only for a few minutes, today thanks to that Colombia and the Latin community sounds in every corner of the planet,” Gutierrez wrote on her Facebook account, adding things happen for a reason.
Pageant host Steve Harvey had announced Miss Colombia as the victor after he misread his cue card. Miss Colombia was de-crowned after a moment of bliss, and it was both painful and embarrassing for the Latina beauty.

Miss Colombia handled the whole disaster with composure even when Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega transferred the crown to Wurtzbach.
Indeed, this year’s event will forever be remembered as one of the most controversial winning moments in the history of beauty pageants.
