  • Miranda Lambert sang about divorce at the ACM Honors a few evenings ago, just weeks after her divorce from The Voice coach and country music superstar Blake Shelton made news.

The song Miranda Lambert belted out on Tuesday night was Loretta Lynn’s classic, called “Rated X.” She also presented Lynn with the Crystal Milestone Award to mark her 50-year career in country music.

The lyrics of “Rated X” tell the story of a woman who finds her own freedom following her divorce. Might Miranda Lambert one day bask in that freedom?

“Well if you’ve been a married woman and things didn’t seem to work out / Divorce is the key to bein’ loose and free so you’re gonna be talked about / Everybody knows that you’ve loved once so they think you’ll love again.”

Miranda Lambert admitted recently that alcohol has been among her coping mechanisms since the divorce.

“I wish I’ve been drinking all day, I deserve it,” she said back on August 7. “I just got divorced.

It likely wasn’t lost on anyone at the ACM Honors that Miranda Lambert was singing about divorce.

Do you suppose Blake Shelton was privy to that performance?

What do you suppose really happened between Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton that prompted him to file for divorce from the woman he once called the love of his life?
