  • Milla Jovovich has inhabited the role of zombie-slaying Alice in several Resident Evil films, and while there is another film currently in the works, she says she’ll have to postpone it for a bit due to her just-announced pregnancy.

The actress took to Facebook on Monday to share her news, saying she’ll have to trade in her weapons for baked goods.

“So after a lot of discussion, we thought it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait till the baby is born before we set out to try and tackle an RE movie. Between the stunt work and what will become my ever-expanding belly, we didn’t think pregnancy and zombie killing are the best combo! I imagine the only thing I’ll be killing in the near future is an endless supply of cupcakes,” Jovovich wrote on Facebook.

As you can see from the clip above, Jovovich is pretty active in the films, which doesn’t mix well with a bun in the oven. It’s not clear yet what will become of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which isn’t due for release until 2016, but it’s still reportedly in the writing stages.

38-year old Jovovich and her husband, director Paul W.S. Anderson, have a six-year old daughter, and the action star says they wanted to have a second child while their firstborn is young enough to enjoy a sibling.

“I want to have a baby and that is my number one priority. If I don’t do it now, it will get more difficult the older I get,” she told Hello! magazine. “I have to do it before [Ever] is too old to enjoy it. I don’t have all the time in the world to think about it.”
