Miley Cyrus Diet: Anorexia Rumors Flying

Miley Cyrus has been flaunting her trim body in recent months, appearing in public wearing short-shorts and teeny dresses, and her sudden slim-down–from an already small frame–got people talking about anorexia. Though Cyrus quickly shot down those rumors on Twitter, claiming an allergy to gluten and lactose products, some say that cutting those things from your diet doesn’t automatically mean a huge weight loss. In fact, it causes many people to gain weight, because they are effectively ensuring their body’s ability to absorb nutrients from other foods.

“We look at weight gain as a positive thing for these people,” Dr. Roshini Rajapaksa, a gastroenterologist, says. “My bottom line is to look at your overall calorie intake and fat intake. There’s really no magic bullet that if you eliminate one thing from your diet, you’ll lose weight. It’s not that simple.”

Still, Cyrus insists that her new diet and a Pilates workout can take the credit for her look, and that she is as healthy as ever.

“For everyone calling me anorexic I have a gluten and lactose allergy,” she tweeted. “It’s not about weight it’s about health. Gluten is crapppp anyway!”
