The Chicago Bears have signed running back Michael Bush. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is for 4 yrs, $14m, $7 guaranteed.
Last season Bush racked up 977 rushing yards and scored eight touchdowns for the Oakland Raiders, stepping up with grace when starter Darren McFadden was sidelined with a foot injury. This could be a great move for Chicago in terms of making their next season a big one.
Former Raiders RB Michael Bush agreed to terms with Bears: 4 yrs, $14m, $7 guaranteed.
Matt Forte, the Bears’ current starting running back, doesn’t seem to be too pleased with the deal however, and has expressed as much on Twitter. It started when he retweeted a couple tweets from former Bears tight end Greg Olsen:
“@MatthewMcGnarly: @gregolsen82 @espnchibears what’s three times now?” 3 yrs signing backups to solid $ and not pay @MattForte22
If u have a studd 3 down guy like @MattForte22 why keep paying backups big $ every yr? Crazy!! Matt deserves better
Then, Forte added:
There’s only so many times a man that has done everything he’s been asked to do can be disrespected! Guess the GOOD GUYS do finish last….
Then, he retweeted (note the hashtag):
When everyone says RB is a replaceable position… when is the last time a RB from the Bears went to a pro bowl? #PayForte???
Then, it was:
for the record I’m not mad at the signing of another running back. This is 4th time that’s happened. I embrace competition as well as help
But as for not taking care of ur own and undervaluing a player under his market value is another story! #twitterrant
Just Keeping it real…hate it or love it
It would appear that Forte is less than thrilled with his team. Meanwhile, Bush has been out enjoying some movies and basketball:
Just watched 21 jump street and it was decent I think I could have waited until it hit #redbox.
