Conductor, the AI coding startup, announced it has been acquired by Meta.
Conductor is one of many AI coding startups, giving developers a way to run teams of coding agents from their computer, mobile device, or in the cloud. The company announced in a blog post that it has been acquired by Meta. Unfortunately for existing users, the startup will soon begin winding down operations.
Conductor is joining Meta. Thank you for coming along for the ride!
We’ll be winding down Conductor over the next weeks and months:
- Conductor Cloud goes read-only on November 13 and shuts down on November 20.
- Local Conductor keeps getting new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027.
To move a cloud workspace and its chats to your Mac, right-click it and choose Transfer to local. To download all your data, go to Settings → Account → Export data.
If you need anything, email [email protected].
In the official announcement, founder Charlie Holtz went into a bit more detail:
I have big news: Conductor is joining Meta.
We launched Conductor a lifetime ago, in the distant past of July 2025. Writing most of your code with agents (let alone a team of coding agents) felt crazy back then. You trusted us to come along for the ride, and we cannot thank you enough!
We have some big, crazy plans for the next interface. If you liked Conductor, you’re gonna love what’s coming. We’ll have something new for you to use early next year.
Conductor will keep working as normal till then, except for Conductor Cloud, which will shut down over the next few weeks. We’ve built an easy way to transfer Conductor Cloud workspaces to local, and we’re around to help make the transition as easy as possible. Reach out to [email protected] if you need anything.
Thank you again for your support!
Charlie
