Today, Rockstar has released the first screenshots from the upcoming PC version of Max Payne 3. If you’re out of the loop, here’s how they describe the new entry in the series:
For Max Payne, the tragedies that took his loved ones years ago are wounds that refuse to heal. No longer a cop, close to washed up and addicted to pain killers, Max takes a job in São Paulo, Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco, in an effort to finally escape his troubled past. But as events spiral out of his control, Max Payne finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city, desperately searching for the truth and fighting for a way out.
According to Rockstar, the game will “feature gloriously increased resolution and graphical detail in both the epic story and the explosive multiplayer modes.” So without further ado, here are the first high-res images:
Max Payne 3 is launching on Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 15th, a couple of weeks before the PC launch which is slated for May 29th. Max Payne will be the first game in the series to support multiplayer.
