Marisa Tomei has signed on to play feminist Gloria Steinem in Ms., an upcoming HBO miniseries. Steinem will serve as a consultant on the project. Gloria Steinem is known for being the most prolific feminist writer and activist of her time.
Ms. will detail the creation of Ms. magazine in 1971 and will highlight the feminist movement of the 1960s and the 1970s. The project–still in the development stage–will be executive produced by Bruce Cohen, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Kathy Najimy, and Marisa Tomei.
Kathy Najimy is set to star alongside Marisa Tomei in the miniseries.

This isn’t the first time Marisa Tomei and George Clooney have worked together. They worked–along with Grant Heslov–on the 2011 drama The Ides of March.
Marisa Tomei is best known for her role as Mona Lisa Vito in My Cousin Vinny, where she starred alongside Joe Pesci and Ralph Macchio.
While it’s uncertain exactly how much of Gloria Steinem’s life Ms. will cover, there is no doubt that it will be well-portrayed as part of a quality production. When you combine talent like that of George Clooney and Marisa Tomei, it’s bound to be good.
