MapQuest announced that it has enhanced its Route Planner product with some new features. Route Planner is a tool that lets users plan trips that include up to 26 stops, giving the quickest route and most efficient order for those stops.
"People are saving a lot of time and mileage using Route Planner so we figured why not track it? At the top of the new Route Planner you’ll see the number of miles our users have saved thus far using this utility," says MapQuest’s Kris Trierweiler. "As of today (July 16), we’ve saved our users 276,513 miles – that’s enough to go around the world nearly 12x!"
Another new feature of Route Planner is the ability to drag and drop stops to reorder your route. To utilize this, simply select the star and drag the location into the position in your route where you want it to be.
You can also now integrate Route Planner into your web site. This lets your site visitors easily plan their routes as they relate to your business.
Finally, MapQuest has given users the ability to modify routes after they’ve been optimized, with a new option in the Directions Options panel. Users can re-optimize their routes numerous times.
