The couple married a month later.
Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams, both well-known musicians, have collaborated in the past. Their most recent collaboration being Adams’ latest self-titled album. Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have no children together. Prior to the announcement of their divorce, the couple kept mostly private about their relationship. Ryan Adams even famously stopped a phone interview because he was being asked about his wife.
Explaining the incident, Adams said, “I was really nice about it the first time, and I’m sorry, but I won’t repeat myself. The deal is this: I’m a private person and I’ll be a gentleman and say I’m not talking about my marriage ever. I’ll never talk about it. Ever.”

Different strokes for different folks, but it’s hard not to imagine how things might have turned out for Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams without that additional baggage of being married.
America’s divorce rate is especially high, and if you think about the number of celebrity couples filing for divorce, perhaps Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams should have reconsidered getting married in the first place. There are several examples of celebrities in long-term relationships (some even lasting for decades), who have not even considered walking down the aisle.
Perhaps a perfect example of this is Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. The two have been in a relationship since 1983 and they are still going strong. Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson have also yet to tie the knot. Jackson was quoted as saying, “Marriage is important for the people it’s important for, but neither one of us is particularly religious, so I don’t think there’s any particular push.”
Enrique Iglesias summed it up perfectly when he was asked why he and longtime girlfriend Anna Kournikova remain happily unmarried. “I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper,” Iglesias said. “Nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.”
