Fashion designer L’Wren Scott was found dead of an apparent suicide yesterday, March 17th.
The 49-year-old former model was found inside an apartment by her assistant on Monday. A law enforcement official said her assistant found her hanging from a doorknob shortly after L’Wren had sent a text to “come over.” Officials also said that no note was found and they don’t believe foul play was involved in her death.
L’Wren was not only known for her incredible style, collecting a plethora of celebrity fans including Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama, she was also girlfriend to rock star Mick Jagger. The two had been dating since at least 2003.
A spokesperson for Jagger said the Rolling Stones singer was “completely shocked and devastated” by the sudden death of L’Wren.
Mick Jagger’s former wife was one of the many celebrities to publicly send out a tweet, showing her respect for Scott.
Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace
