Actress Lori Loughlin, while referring to John Stamos once calling her “the one that got away,” remained mostly silent about any mutual feelings for her old flame. “Oh, my goodness. Well, we’ll never know, right?”, Loughlin said at the opening of the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
Stamos had recently mentioned that he and Full House co-star Loughlin had seen each other off-set – “We went on a date to Disneyland before, you know, before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19 years old. We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away.”
In 1988, Loughlin joined the cast of the wildly popular Full House, and eventually became “Aunt Becky” opposite Stamos’ “Uncle Jesse.” Loughlin remained a principal cast member until 1995.
More importantly, Loughlin was featured in one of the best movie scenes ever filmed, in 1986’s “RAD.” Bunny hopping, SAT-dodging midwestern paperboy Cru Jones woos a Mongoose-sponsored rider from Beverly Hills named Christian Holly (Lori Loughlin), culminating in an appropriate bike-dancing spectacle in a high school gym.

Cru went on to take his SATs another day, arch nemesis Bart Conner got booted from the Mongoose team and joined Cru’s new-fangled “Rad Racing,” and Lori Loughlin defected as well. The role clearly prepared Loughlin for the wholesome “Full House.”
The 49-year-old actress, who is happily married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, also dashed any hopes of a “Full House” movie. “I don’t think that there are any plans for a movie,” Loughlin said. “If it were a really good script and a great project, but sometimes I think that it’s better off to leave those TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows.”
Loughlin added, “I will always love John, always.” What does that even mean? Like, forever? Forever-ever?
