Liv Tyler gave birth to a baby boy on February 11th, welcoming him into the world about six weeks ahead of his due date. Liv’s dad, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler made it to the hospital in the nick of time.
This is the first child for Tyler and boyfriend, sports manager and agent David Gardner. On Friday, Liv Tyler and David Gardner announced that they’d named their son.
Liv Tyler shared the name chosen for their baby boy via Instagram. The photo shows a precious, tiny baby hand inside of an adult hand. The baby’s hand is holding a lapis-blue locket with a crystal or diamond-encrusted anchor, as well as a gold chain. The piece appears vintage. Inside of the locket is the baby’s name.
Tyler gives the name away in the photo’s caption.
“Sailor Gene Gardner,” it reads.
Baby Sailor joins big brothers Milo, who is 10, and Gray, who is seven. Both Liv Tyler and David Gardner have a child from previous marriages.
Liv Tyler had fun sharing her growing baby bump when she was expecting Sailor.
She captioned this shot, “New York City ballet,” and posted it about two weeks ago.
Congratulations are certainly in order for Liv Tyler and David Graham, on the birth of their son–as well as on the name they chose for him. Too many celebrities select bizarre monikers for their children, never realizing that years down the road some resentment might evolve.
