Music is incredibly important to Final Fantasy. I would even go so far as to argue that music is the most important element in Square Enix’s long running series. That’s why it’s incredibly important to let fans get a feel for the game’s music before it comes out.
In Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, the composers behind the first two games in the Lightning trilogy – Mitsuto Suzuki, Masashi Hamauzu and Naoshi Mizuta – are back with new music for the final game in the trilogy. One of the highlights of the first two games was the music, and that same quality is being brought to the battle theme of Lightning Returns.
The battle song is the most important for any RPG. It’s the music that you’ll be hearing the most and it would be a travesty if the music was annoying. Thankfully, it looks like Lightning Returns won’t have anything as grating as Blue Dragon’s boss battle music.
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will launch on February 11 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
