Kurt Russell is back in a new western called Bone Tomahawk. This isn’t your average western, however. This one involves cannibalistic cave dwellers.

While early reviews for Bone Tomahawk have been mixed, they do seem to tilt toward the positive side of the scale. The film currently has a 73% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Variety calls it “a witty oater with a bloody genre twist,” adding that it may “find the cult following it seeks.”
The film’s release follows Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno in terms of recent additions to the cannibal film canon.
Bone Tomahawk comes out on October 23. It also stars Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, Lili Simmons, David Arquette, and Richard Jenkins.
Kurt Russell will also be appearing in another highly anticipated western this year when Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is released.
