Kristin Chenoweth, star of such television programs as “Pushing Daisies”, “Kristin”, and “The West Wing”, was injured on the set of the show “The Good Wife” when a gust of wind caused some lighting equipment to hit the popular actress/singer. According to TMZ, Kristin was placed in a neck brace before being rushed to a New York City hospital.
The actress, who is currently playing a political reporter on the aforementioned drama, was struck in the head when some scaffolding gave way, which, in turn, caused Chenoweth to hit her head on the pavement. Witnesses stated it appeared that Kristin was knocked out from the blow, while others initially believed that she was dead. The actress was treated at Bellevue Hospital for minor injuries, though little else is known about the incident.
On Wednesday, CBS Television Studio issued a statement on the matter, saying, “This afternoon, while filming a scene for ‘The Good Wife’ in Brooklyn, a gust of wind blew a lighting silk out of place striking actress Kristin Chenoweth. She received treatment on the scene by the show’s medic until a New York Fire Department emergency medical team arrived and transported her to the hospital. All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristin and wishing her a quick recovery.”
Tulsa World says this isn’t the first time Chenoweth has injured herself on the job. In 2003, for example, the actress injured her neck during a performance of “Wicked”. Most recently, Kristin tumbled down a flight of concrete steps during her stint on the FOX musical “Glee”.
