Kristin Cavallari has no doubt raised some eyebrows with her recent confession that she and hubby Jay Cutler will be naming their daughter–due in November–after a dog.
Fans should rest assured that the baby won’t be stuck with anything like “Lady” or “Fluffy,” however.
“We picked out this baby girl’s name when I was pregnant with our first,” Kristin Cavallari tells Cricket’s Circle. “I met a woman and her dog, and I loved her dog’s name. Funny enough, it was the name she had picked out if she had a girl, but she had boys, so she used it for her dog instead.”

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler are already parents to two little boys. Jaxon Wyatt is 16 months old, and Camden Jack is three. The lovely names chosen for their boys further prove that their baby girl won’t be given a name intended for four-footed furry creatures.
While chatting with Cricket’s Circle, The Hills star touched on that ever-popular topic of balancing work and parenthood. It seems like she and her hubby have found the perfect mix.
“Once I had kids, I made a conscious decision to make them my top priority,” Kristin Cavallari says. “I want to take them to school, to mommy-and-me music class–I want to be there.”
“This means I can’t take on as many business endeavors, which has actually helped my career. I have to love and wholeheartedly believe in anything I do, which is a really great feeling,” she adds.
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler often find that swapping roles best fits their parenting plan. Depending on his football schedule–Cutler is a quarterback for the Chicago Bears–she stays home during football season and when he’s off, he cares for the kids while she travels for work.

Cavallari also dished on the best parenting advice she ever received, noting it came from her own mother.
Kids do as you do, not as you say.
“I really try hard to set a good example and practice what I preach, which can be hard,” she says of the advice from Mom. “She also swears that I’m going to miss the hard days, so I try to find the comedy in tough moments. My trick for keeping your cool is to act like someone’s watching you and evaluating you as a parent.”
Hopefully Kristin Cavallari’s mom knows their plans for naming their baby girl when she arrives in November. Surely she would step in if the plans were for naming her something like “Fido” or “Lassie.”
