Kris Allen, the season 8 winner of “American Idol”, was involved in a serious car accident on New Year’s Day which left him pretty banged up.
Allen and his wife Katy–who is pregnant–were the victims of a head-on collision which sent him to the hospital with a broken arm, and although he’ll have to have surgery, he assured his fans via Twitter that his tour is still on. Luckily, Katy and the couple’s dog, Zorro, are a little bruised up but are otherwise okay.

While the driven singer may not want to postpone his tour, his mom Kimberly says he may not be able to play guitar for a while, which will definitely make things difficult over the next couple of months.
