Kevin Bacon shared a photo on Instagram this week that had his fans looking twice.

The Following star showed off an…interesting makeup job while standing in front of what appears to be a trailer, although it’s not clear what project the look is for. In the photo, Bacon is sporting a very full, clean-shaven face that makes it hard to tell it’s even him.

Of course, Bacon has said in the past that he has a penchant for wearing disguises when he’s in public since he has a pretty famous face, so it’s possible that the makeup was for his own amusement rather than for a project. However, Kevin told Haute Living in March that disguises aren’t always the best way to go.

“It was almost disturbing to me. People kind of looked right through me and weren’t nice to me. It didn’t feel that good, to tell you the truth. I’ve had [fame] for so long that I almost can’t really get my head around what my life would be like without it,” Bacon said.
