Not even celebrities are safe from having their homes broken into, even if they’re home when it happens.
Keri Russell, of Felicity fame and the current FX series, The Americans, was sleeping in her Brooklyn Heights brownstone when she heard noises around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning coming from upstairs. When she got up to find out what the cause of the noises were, she found a window in her living room and her front door wide open.
Russell told the NYPD that the burglars got off with a laptop computer, a necklace, earrings, and a Filson handbag.
Law enforcement told TMZ they arrested two men some blocks away from Russell’s home burglarizing the residence of a 70-year-old white woman a little after 5:00 a.m. The woman described the two men and the cops found them nearby and took them in for questioning.

Thanks to the great work of the NYPD, Russell didn’t have to wait long to get her belongings back. They even went to the set of her TV show, The Americans, to give her back her necklace, earrings, laptop, and purse.
While on the set of her show, Russell told The New York Post, “The New York City cops were awesome. They’re bringing my stuff back right now — when does that ever happen?! ”
Russell’s rep said, “Everyone is fine, and Keri sends her thanks to the police. She returned to work on The Americans today.”
It looks like Russell was the only one home at the time of the incident. The report says her husband, carpenter Shane Deary, and their children, son River and daughter Willa were not there at the time of the break in.
A spokesperson for the NYPD said Ronald Swindell and his nephew Steffon have been arrested and charged with burglary in the incident at Russell’s home and criminal possession of stolen items for the second home.
